Historic Eccleshall

The Doomsday Book, Queen Margaret of Anjou, the Battle of Bloor Heath are all associated with the history of Eccleshall dating back to 1086!

Eccleshall town is a conservation area and much of the architecture dates back the Georgian period, although many buildings were constructed much earlier than that.
Pick up your copy of the Historic Trail guides – North and South – at the library on the High Street or download the PDFs below. Both the North and South trails include details on the significance of key buildings.
The pace is determined by you, but you can easily lose yourself for an hour or so (and longer if you browse the independent shops on the way) on this pretty and interesting walk.
